West Elementary School

West Elementary School is one of more than six DCPS funded School-wide Enrichment Model (SEM) schools that provide advanced-level enrichment opportunities for all scholars. West is characterized by a compassionate and joyful learning environment. Our dedicated staff is committed to ensuring success for all scholars by challenging each scholar and fostering their academic achievement and social development. At West, we work in partnership with our families as we collectively grow and empower our school community.

This campus will not serve 6th, 7th or 8th grade in SY20-21, as it transitions to an elementary school. West will be temporarily located at 4300 13th St. NW for SY20-21.

• We challenge all scholars with rigorous, project-based learning experiences in small groups
• We are a Flamboyan partner school for 2 years and have increased parent participation in conferences to 90% in one year
• We partner with the Fillmore Arts Center to provide music instruction to our scholars, in addition to Spanish, Art, PE and Library
