Lafayette provides a special learning environment with talented, dedicated teachers and staff members supported by an active community. An emphasis on integrating the arts into all subject areas enriches student's learning experiences. Additionally, we have a school wide Peace and Mindfulness program to support our positive school culture.

The Lafayette ES PK4 program may move to the Military Road School building at 1375 Missouri Ave NW in SY21-22. Families who submit an application to Lafayette ES for PK4 will receive an update with the final location information for SY21-22 by early February 2021. Grades K-5 will remain in the Lafayette building at 5701 Broad Branch Rd NW. Please contact school for more details.
• Peace of Mind Curriculum-a weekly "peace" class where students experience direct social emotional teaching, conflict resolution, and learn mindfulness
