Not RequiredMilitary Road Early Learning Center is the second DCPS standalone early childhood school. Located at the historic Military Road School, this citywide PK3 and PK4 program will serve students from across the District of Columbia. At MRELC, children will build a solid academic and developmental foundation in an environment that supports creative exploration, nurturing relationships, and adventurous play. We commit to providing each child with experiences that foster a love of learning and stimulate intellectual curiosity.
• Military Road ELC will be a citywide, standalone early learning center with no boundary, welcoming applicants from across the District.
• Military Road ELC students learn through project-based, hands-on activities. Classes are designed to promote children's language development, critical thinking skills, and creativity for success in kindergarten and beyond.
• The Military Road facility includes a historic building that was expanded in 2009 and now features six classroom spaces, a large outdoor play space, and a large multi-purpose room and elevator.
Students do not take PARCC before grade 3.
