Not RequiredIn August 2023, DCPS opened its newest high school! MacArthur HS is a comprehensive, neighborhood high school serving the diverse interests and needs of students in Ward 3 and across the city. This new school offers rigorous academics, CTE pathways, arts programming, and a range of athletic and club options, shaped by community feedback and the interests of the first cohorts of students. By enrolling in MacArthur at its founding, the first cohorts of students will have access to exceptional leadership opportunities and will help to shape the character of DCPS's newest HS.

Dual College Enrollment
• Students who enroll at MacArthur in its founding years will have the chance to pursue leadership opportunities as founding members of the school's clubs, sports, and extracurriculars.
• The school has a spacious black box theatre ideal for performing arts and theatre. In future construction phases, MacArthur will continue to develop its facilities to accommodate expended course opportunities.
• The school is equipped with a high school sized gymnasium, soccer practice field and lots of breakout spaces for individualized learning.
